JKK was arguably the first indigenous IT Company in Nigeria and has been at the forefront of the Nigerian IT industry since its inception. It has pioneered numerous initiatives in the industry in Nigeria. It introduced the minicomputer to the Nigerian market in 1979. Since then, it has been responsible for introducing other innovative computer technology as they became available such as the personal Computer, PC in 1982. Since 1993, JKK has been a major reseller of Sun Microsystems computers in the country, now called Oracle Sun server. This is one of the popular high end computer systems on the market.

The company is also involved in the design, development and implementation of customized software and supply, implementation and support of various types of application software systems for reputable organization for various business applications.

In 1993, the company created two associated companies, Future Technology Systems (FTS) and MicroWorks Nigeria Ltd. FTS was set up to specialize in the development of software locally for the banking industry. The company developed “FutureBank”, a bank accounting software which was installed for several banks in the country. It subsequently expanded to other areas of software development. MicroWorks was established to provide maintenance service for personal computers and peripherals. It also provided recycling services for computer consumables.

JKK has been known for its professionalism and many IT practitioners in Nigeria had at one time or other either worked at JKK as full time employees or students on industrial training.
